Join the national conversation on gender diversity in US corporate boardrooms on December 12, 2012, hosted by 2020 Women on Boards’ chapters, as well as, male and female champions nationwide.
At 2020 Women on Boards, our mission is to increase the percentage of women on US corporate boards to at least 20% (from the current 14.6%) by 2020. Why should we care about gender diversity in American boardrooms? Here are 3 reasons why:
- Companies with women on their boards have higher returns on equity, lower relative debt levels, higher stock valuation and higher average growth.
- Companies with female directors and executive officers send a clear message that they value diversity and experience.
- Women bring different perspectives to the challenges facing today’s corporations. Diversity of thought breeds innovation and better decision-making.
So join us, on 12/12/12, when we’ll promote efforts to increase the proportion of female executives, raise critical funding to support those efforts, and make our voices heard worldwide. If you want to help “Move the Needle” forward in your community by hosting a luncheon event, we’ve made it easy for you. You don’t need any event organizing experience – just the help of our online tool kit!
