Christiane Olsen has over 35 years experience in the financial services industry. She joined UBS Financial, Inc. in 2002.  Chris recruited a team of professionals to build a family office within the Private Bank catering to individuals and families of exceptional wealth. Chris is a member of the firm's Chairman Council.  Since 2008, Chris has been included in Barron's Top 100 Women's Financial Advisers List. Chris was also recognized in 2009 by Registered Rep. Magazine as one of the Top 100 Wirehouse Advisors; additionally Chris was further recognized as one of the Top 1000 Financial Advisor's by Barron's.

Chris started her career at Marine Midland Bank in 1979 where she completed the bank's Credit/Analytical Training Program.  Subsequently Chris moved to Chemical Bank and The Bank of New York in the Wealth Management departments in sales related efforts.  From 1988 to 2001 she moved to Tucker Anthony continuing to manage client's assets.   Chris received a BS degree in Economics from New York University in 1982.  Chris is a member of both the Financial Women's Association of NY where she is currently working on the Finance Committee; the Women's Municipal Bond Club and The Economic Club of New York.  Additionally, Chris serves as a consultant to the Estee Lauder Global Pension Investment Committee. 

Chris is married to her husband of 19 years, Gregory Askins, whose passions include the classical guitar and teaching ballet.  In 2005 she and her husband created Nylon Wound, a nonprofit promoting classical guitar for public enrichment. 

 

Tammy Scholtes is the Event Project Manager of 2020 Women on Boards. She also serves as the Co-Chair of the NYC Planning Committee for 2020WOB’s signature program, the National Conversation on Board Diversity. Ms. Scholtes has a proven track record of creating highly successful live events with influential thoughtleaders, global investment strategists and worldwide industry experts for speaking engagements, conferences, webinars, and educational forums. Her expertise has helped top magazine and newspaper publishers successfully grow subscriber bases and gain international recognition as an industry leader of both digital and printed content.

Ms. Scholtes’ prior experience as a speaker recruiter/facilitator and conference content programmer includes working with ultra high net worth members of the Family Office Exchange, where she was the Director of Program Design. At Pensions & Investments she served as the Director of Conference Programming for the newspaper’s events held nationally and in Japan. Prior to that, she created program development for Publisher SourceMedia where she helped managed multiple annual conferences for On Wall Street, Financial Planning, Accounting Today, and Employee Benefit News. Ms. Scholtes was also a Partner for Energetic Communications in collaboration with the Financial Times’ U.S.-based conferences. At British-based Richmond Events, she brokered meetings with C-level financial executives attending the CIO Forum, an exclusive, invitation-only event held onboard a luxury ocean liner.

Ms. Scholtes received P&I’s “Alpha Award” which recognizes exceptional individual performance and contribution. Earlier in her career as a TV Producer for ABC news affiliates, she won two Emmy Awards for “Outstanding News Broadcast” and a Telly Award for “Best Corporate Video” during her tenure as an Event Planner/Corporate Video Manager for the Rite Aid Corporation.

After graduating from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications, Ms. Scholtes helped organize various live television specials, concerts and social events at Manhattan Center Studios, one of the largest private event venues in NYC. Ms. Scholtes has run the NYC marathon twice and has one daughter who is currently attending college.

Kimberly has over 30 years experience in the financial services environment covering new business development, marketing and business transformation. She is currently a consultant to business clients to develop long-term growth strategies and tactics.  As of July 2017, she was appointed Trustee for the Village of Southampton, New York. 

Prior to consulting, Kimberly served in executive roles for American Express, Lehman, Marsh McLennan, U.S. Trust and most recently, Bank of America Global Wealth Management and Global Technology & Operations divisions. In this capacity, Kimberly supported new business development, enhanced service delivery initiatives and business integration functions to support the merger of U.S. Trust and Merrill Lynch.   This experience offers her unique insight into addressing a broad array of clients and changing needs.

Kimberly has served on the board of several non-profits, including the New Amsterdam Singers, The Southampton Association, (an environmental and preservation advocacy group) and on the sponsorship committee for CREW (Commercial Real Estate for Women). In addition, she has been actively involved in various organizations and disaster recovery events, (i.e., Helen Keller International, HRH, Sandy Relief, and National Oceanic Clean-up events).  She has acted as a strategic advisor to Fordham’s Deming Scholars program.

Kimberly earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and German Studies from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, and an MBA from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business.  She holds Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification from the Quality School of Management. Kimberly and her family reside in Southampton, NY and New York City.
 

 Tuya Begzjav oversees customer experience as a sales manager for the tech start-up Bidsquare.  She improves customer interaction by tackling and trouble-shooting issues encountered and supervises marketing projects via email campaigns.

Ms. Begzjav was born in Mongolia and has been exposed to various cultures since an early age such as: Indian, Russian and Czech.  She settled in Seattle for over a decade as a small business owner with multiple locations. She gained extensive hands-on experience in business planning, development, budgeting and management of daily operations with a focus on quality customer service. Ms. Begzjav successfully managed over 30 employees and increased sales by 25% with consistent employee training and increased productivity.

During her spare time, Ms. Begzjav was a community organizer, planning and executing events regularly. She planned and directed social and cultural events for the Mongolian community in the Northwest such as holiday parties, sport tournaments and traditional Mongolian concerts throughout Seattle.  The “true nomad” in her blood led her to look for “greener pastures” in New York City, where she settled in 2015.  Tuya believes that by empowering women we are not only taking care of individuals, we are taking care of the whole village.  She strongly believes that now is the time to support women in leadership positions for a better future of generations of women to come.

 

SVP - Wealth Management, Senior Portfolio Manager, UBS Financial Services

Fiona Chen is an Organizational Change Management consultant at Cognizant Business Consulting (CBC) whose passions reside in helping her clients navigate through fluctuating environments caused by modern technology. In addition to her client work, she created the organization’s first mentorship program, an initiative geared towards CBC Business Analysts to better partner undergraduate new hires with the right resources and colleagues.

During her spare time, Ms. Chen volunteers at community events and mentors undergraduates at her alma mater, Boston University. Most recently, she co-founded and is the President of the Benjamin N. Cardozo High School Alumni Association, Inc., a nonprofit that aims to empower, inspire, and support students at her high school alma mater. She is currently based out of New York.

Veteran Executive / Board Member & Commended Architect

Ms. DiGeronimo is President and founder of DiGeronimo Architects, a recognized and certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), headquartered in Paramus, New Jersey. Ms. DiGeronimo has over 46 years of experience in architecture and has immense project leadership expertise focused on quality control.

Ms. DiGeronimo specializes in urban infrastructure projects ranging from large-scale planning and feasibility, to capital improvement work for inner-city schools, and upgrades to government facilities. Her work includes studies to develop new communities for urban renewal and for military clients. Ms. DiGeronimo has developed designs and planning templates for modular housing to meet disaster relief needs and for military and construction site applications.

Since 2013, in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy, Ms. DiGeronimo has participated in several NY and NJ State run programs to rehabilitate, reconstruct, elevate, and mitigate homes damaged by the impact of that storm. Ms. DiGeronimo was the first architect to design elevation for the CDBG HUD funded NYC Build it Back project and has also developed a successful prototype for the program. 

Ms. DiGeronimo was an initial member of the consortium developing the design for the new Trans Hudson Express Tunnel which was an $8 billion project that included state-of-the-art, two-track tunnel under the Hudson River. 

Most recently Ms. DiGeronimo has received special acclaim for her appointment to the very prestigious Port Authority International Bus Terminal Design + Deliverability Competition.

Financial Advisor, Portfolio Manager, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management

A financial professional committed to using capital to make change, Eve Ellis is senior and founding partner of The Matterhorn Group at Morgan Stanley, a full-service wealth advisory group developing and executing sophisticated financial and philanthropic plans for individuals, businesses and nonprofit institutions. Eve is the co-manager of 2 Matterhorn proprietary portfolios for investors seeking financial and social returns: The Parity Portfolio Strategy, a gender lens portfolio, and The Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, a diversity issues portfolio.

Eve is a Yale graduate, a Certified Financial Planner™, a Certified Investment Manager Analyst®, an Accredited Investment Fiduciary, and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy. She was certified by the Institute for Preparing Heirs, and is a member of the Association of Professional Investment Consultants (APIC) and the Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment (US SIF).

Eve is a prominent national spokesperson in news media such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, Globe & Mail, Huffington Post, Bloomberg TV on the issue of gender lens investing and serves on the board of the Ms. Foundation for Women. A former professional tennis player, Eve was inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.

She is former chair of the Investment Committee of Jewish Women’s Archive, an Investment Committee member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, a board member of Maccabi USA, former chair of 100 Women in Hedge Funds philanthropy committee, and former board member of Susan G. Komen for the Cure New York.

Eve is also a member of the institutional investors committee of the 30% Percent Coalition, the working group of the 30% Club in the US, and the steering committee of 2020 Women on Boards. All three organizations aim to create change in corporate America.

Janet B. Handal is a technology management consultant who applies her passion for new technologies to help her clients realize their business objectives and operate more efficiently. She acts as a technology “general contractor,” identifying business requirements in conjunction with her clients and recommending appropriate technology solutions. She specializes in financial services, technology-related change management and web-based technologies including ecommerce, social media, search engine optimization and search engine marketing. Ms. Handal has consulted with C-level executives at JPMorgan Chase on the integration and outsourcing of the technology infrastructure of its two predecessor banks. For another bank division, she spearheaded the integration of three technology units into a new management structure. Her clients include JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, NPower (jointly funded by JP Morgan Chase, Accenture and Goldman Sachs), Parentigiving.com, the New York Times, Refco Inc, and Prudential.

During the Clinton Administration, Ms. Handal served as Chair of the Task Force on Information Technology where she led the effort to introduce Internet-based technology solutions to the White House. Her team installed the first Internet access there and she was one of six founders of the first WhiteHouse.gov. While there she consulted to DARPA, (Defense Advanced Research Porjects Agency) leading their New Technology Initiatives. She also served as an advisor to the senior staff of the National Information Infrastructure, which plans policy for the nation’s information infrastructure.

Ms. Handal also co-founded and raised angel/venture capital for three ventures, including a company that licenses products to Epson, Kodak and RR Donnelly. She was a founder of ec-Finance.com providing a collaborative workspace for financial products supporting international business. Ms. Handal has also served as Vice President and Director of Strategic Alliances for FundsXpress, Inc., an Internet banking and financial network based in Austin, Texas.

Ms. Handal is currently a member of the board and Director of Programming for the Financial Women’s Association of New York. She organized the FWA Symposium on Microfinance held at the United Nations and chaired its International Business Conference. She also serves pro bono as CIO of Save Lives Now New York Inc., an organ transplant advocacy organization which was successful in passing groundbreaking legislation in Albany, NY in 2012. An active member of the community, she has given testimony on privacy issues before the New York City Council. Her MBA is from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
 

Counsel, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP

Jessica Lutrin is a counsel in the Executive Compensation & Benefits practice at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.  Prior to joining Pillsbury in 2015, Jessica was an associate in the Executive Compensation & Benefits practice of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Jessica has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Employee Benefits by Super Lawyers in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Since the start of her career in 2009, Jessica has been involved in non-profit legal work by advising organizations dedicated to arts enrichment in schools and organizations committed to increasing exposure to the arts in New York City.  Jessica has also represented Holocaust survivors in their repatriation claims against the German government.

Jessica received a B.A. degree in Political Science in 2007 and an LL.B. degree in 2009 from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.  Jessica was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and relocated to New York in 2009.

Barbara Miller is a consumer equity specialist with 25 years of experience in the investment industry, both sell- and buy-side.  Since 2002, she has been a portfolio manager/analyst for Federated Kaufmann Funds, where she manages three equity mutual funds focused on growth stocks.  Prior to joining Federated, she was with Goldman Sachs and Alex, Brown & Sons for a collective ten years, after receiving her MBA at Harvard Business School.  Prior to business school, she worked at several public relations firms and earlier, as a small town broadcast journalist post college at Brown University.  Ms. Miller lives and works in Manhattan.  Her extra curricular interests include angel investing/small business consulting, art collecting, global travel, cooking/food & wine, and exercise/cycling. 

To address the slow progress on women’s economic issues, Bev Cooper Neufeld envisioned PowHer New York: a community working across typical barriers to connect people, energize a movement, and accelerate progress. It is one of many innovative projects she has created.  She is also President of BCN Consulting Group LLC, which helps nonprofits create change through advocacy, programming, and organizational development.

Ms. Cooper Neufeld invigorated the 20-year old institution with innovative programming, including the New York Women’s Business Principles Initiative and the Equal Pay Coalition NYC. She lead the campaign for pay equity reform, now a signature program of PowHer New York, which influenced the passage of the NYS Women’s Equality Act and the NYS Equal Pay Act. Ms. Cooper Neufeld is a member of the national Paycheck Fairness Taskforce and the steering committee of the 850 member, NYS Women’s Equality Coalition.

As E.D. of the White House Project she oversaw research on women’s leadership and helped develop SheSource and Vote, Run, Lead. Beverly was Finance Director for Congresswoman Nita Lowey. Her board service includes 2020 Women on Boards, Free the Children, Sing for Hope, Women’s Campaign Forum, and Westchester Children’s Association.

Kristal Santos is an event manager with over 12 years’ experience in the events industry. She is currently the Associate Conference Manager at Pensions&Investments, a publication that is part of Crain Communications. She graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, New York with her BA in Hospitality Management and her MA in International Communications. After graduation, she stayed in New York working in the private events sector until she made the change into corporate conferences in 2014 when she joined the Pensions&Investments conference division.

Ms. Santos is the recipient of the P&I Alpha Award which honors and recognizes employees who have delivered exceptional client service and meaningful contributions to the company culture. She is uent in Spanish and volunteers with various community outreach organizations in the New York area.

Marielle Schurig is Account Vice President at UBS Financial Services, Inc. where she creates customized investment solutions and financial plans for high net worth clients and charitable organizations. Having set the highest standards of financial planning knowledge and principles of integrity and ethics, Marielle holds the CFP® certificate as a certified financial planner and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. In addition to her financial planning expertise, Marielle is also a sought after divorce financial specialist and is a member of the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts and a holder of the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ credential.

Marielle graduated from Bentley University where she received her bachelor's degree in finance. Prior to joining UBS, she worked at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management conducting market research and constructing investment portfolios.  In addition to her practice, Marielle is a passionate educator and is committed to giving back and making an impact in the communities she serves. She has engaged in several speaking engagements over the years covering financial planning techniques and investment strategies, and has served as a speaker for various leadership conferences discussing the role of women in business. Marielle is also an active member on the leadership boards of various non-profit organizations, including The Liberty Science Center and Read Alliance, and is a career advisor for her college, helping students select career paths and obtain job opportunities. She is based out of New York City and resides in Brooklyn Heights. 

Ms. Stern joined FactSet in 2001 as General Counsel. In addition to the Legal Department at FactSet, she is responsible for Facilities and Real Estate Planning and Third-Party Content and Strategic Partnerships. Ms. Stern is admitted to practice in New York, and Washington D.C., and as House Counsel in Connecticut. Ms. Stern received a B.A. from Yale University, an M.A. from the University of London and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
